Everyone knows that the most important thing at a wedding is the food! We are seeing plenty of trends for the wedding meal, but what about the smaller bites? Hors d’oeuvres served during the cocktail hour are not exempt from trends this year.
Couples are making their weddings all about them – that means personalization! Appetizers inspired by their favourite foods – but on a miniature scale. Be it mini hamburgers, tacos, macaroni and cheese or poutine – if it can be made into bite sized pieces, you can expect to see it as a hors d’oeuvres.
Along with the miniature versions of their favourite foods come miniature versions of their favourite cocktails to pair with those foods. A small cocktail paired with a small bite – we’ve been seeing everything from tacos paired with salt rimmed mini lime margaritas, beef sliders with the groom’s favourite beer, and bubbly champagne paired with oysters.
